Bar do Biu: Saturday Feijoada in São Paulo

Bar do Biu (Tripadvisor) is located in São Paulo’s Zona Oeste (West Side), at Rua Cardeal Arcoverde, 772/776, Pinheiros — a Brazilian food bar.
It sits on a corner, with a Northeastern-style food counter tucked in the back of the space as its main draw.
Prices run a bit above average for a bar, but it’s genuinely worth trying, and we came specifically for the feijoada.
We celebrated my birthday and Júlia’s here with another couple, since our birthdays fall close together, and we’ve started a yearly tradition of celebrating at a spot with a different feijoada each time.
The setting
Casual and a lot of fun for an afternoon with friends — the space is small, but genuinely cozy.
The decor includes restaurant recommendations clipped from magazines, articles, and plenty of Corinthians (the football club) stickers and memorabilia.

Starter at Bar do Biu
We ordered torresmo, which came crispy, almost like bacon bits — not exactly our favorite style, since it was a bit light on actual meat.

Main course at Bar do Biu
We came specifically for the feijoada, though this is really a Northeastern-style restaurant with plenty of other options too.
We ordered the full “fat” feijoada with pork chop, calabresa sausage, and torresmo, served with rice, couve, farofa, and hot sauce on the side. It easily serves two people, came fully loaded, and was well worth it.

Dessert
We skipped dessert here, since — as mentioned, it was my birthday and Júlia’s — we’d already ordered a cake from Cakess, which was simply delicious.
Cakess Sweet Sugar also has a physical shop at Avenida Angélica, 2285, where you can order ahead or buy something to eat on-site — the space itself is beautiful and worth a visit.

Price
The bar tab came to R$140 per couple, though we spent the whole afternoon there with beer, juice, water, and food.
The cake from Cakess came to R$100 for four people — and given the size, as you can see, there was plenty left over, making it a great value.
