Futuro Refeitório: Breakfast in Pinheiros

Like Casa Carbone, Futuro Refeitório (Instagram) is also located in São Paulo’s Zona Oeste (West Side), at Rua Cônego Eugênio Leite, 808, Pinheiros. It’s a Brazilian restaurant with vegan and vegetarian options, alongside dishes that include animal products like milk, eggs, and honey.
The owners are sisters Gabriela and Karina, who grew up in the countryside. Gabriela learned to cook after leaving a literature degree behind, while Karina loves taking care of people and used to plan weddings.
Together, they built a space centered on good food and good lighting — and that’s how Futuro Refeitório came to be.
One fun detail: the restroom is unisex, but with individual private stalls, so despite being a bit different from the norm, it never feels awkward.
The setting
Spacious and airy, with tables well spaced apart — we liked the space, and there’s a counter separating the dining room from the kitchen.

Breakfast at Futuro Refeitório
We ordered 2 plates of Avo Ovo Bacon, French Toast, and an espresso with a splash of milk. It was fine, but nothing especially memorable.
Avo Ovo Bacon: avocado, organic scrambled eggs, bacon, yogurt, and half a slice of buttered toast.
French Toast: bread soaked in milk, sugar, and vanilla, then pan-fried in butter until golden, served with honey.
The espresso was quite strong, right up Bigode’s father’s alley.

Dessert at Futuro Refeitório
We decided to try the waffle with house-made hazelnut chocolate spread, but weren’t fans — the chocolate was too bitter, with a slightly burnt taste.

Price
R$103 for 2 people.
